A VSO – Voluntary Service Overseas, an English non-governmental organization, whose activity is focused on the areas of Health, Education and Livelihoods, with a view to improving living conditions for the needy population.

VSO Mozambique, in partnership with Light for The World, intends to recruit 5 National Volunteers to occupy the post of Community Facilitators for Life Skills for the EAGLE project in Sofala Province, specifically for the Nhamatanda district.

Position Purpose The purpose of this function is to facilitate sessions in clubs, as per the EAGLE project plan, to educate girls about life skills, and in this way contribute to their empowerment.

It will be necessary to ensure effective and balanced functioning, supporting girls in the process of behavioral change through the provision of these sessions, developing skills in the area of ​​sexual and reproductive health and rights.

This position also includes monitoring the progress of girls who access numeracy and literacy classes through the mutual support system. Ensure accessibility of quality life skills information for all girls aged 15-19 who have been excluded from the education system for different reasons, and include sexual and reproductive health issues and rights in activities and ensure protection from marriage premature babies, early pregnancies and gender-based violence. Ensuring that the teaching and learning process on life skills takes place within the standards established and defined by the organizations implementing the project (VSO/Light for the World) and contributing to the training and integral fulfillment of girls, through the promotion of their abilities, encouraging their autonomy.

Requirements

Possess a minimum training in Social Sciences, preferably in Gender and Development and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights;

Good level of spoken Ndau Possess the level of 10th or 12th Class of the SNE or Equivalent;

Have a minimum of 1 year of proven work experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health or other life skills developed within communities for girl empowerment;

Have notions of use of technologies (tablet) or smartphones and email;

Being a resident of Nhamatanda is an advantage.

Speaking Sena is an advantage.
